(India.CityRegions.Com, January 20, 2016 ) When we talk about web design and search optimization, time and time again we think about all the wrong things. We think technology and techniques as opposed to people. Our first thought is keywords, Ranking on Google and all the factors which actually make your article look good for Google.
Now It’s not wrong and i am not going to fight the tide, but then there is something which requires attention. There have been changes. There will be more to come. Google is not the same Google it was in the early 1990's. It’s changed and it will keep changing. While Google had a crappy bot looking through your content and ranking based on your Meta tags in the early 90's, things changed and there was intelligence to some ration by the end of 2000. In 2010, we saw that Google started implementing a string of updates (algorithmic changes) which affected a lot of companies. Spammers were gone and people who thought that their tricks were not going to be noticed or those who had the muscle to incorporate millions of links to their website through obscene methods suddenly licked dust.
its 2016 and a lot of things are changing. The one thing Google see's in its search result is relevance. But if the relevance is a dry long page of article which no one is going to read, be assured that you are not going to see it anywhere in the list. Not for the next 100 years! Relevance Combined with importance and a pinch of user acceptance is what Google is looking for. No matter how good your content is and how many people link to your site, if its not going to have a good retention rate and if people don’t spend more time on your site , you are going to see your article popped out of the listing sooner than later.
So! what’s the trick? The trick is to not think Google. Think about your end users. Think about the people reading your story. if they are not going to like it, if they don’t take the 5 minute time to read it and click through to another link from your page to a related article or buy a product then Google is going to know it. (i am not kidding you , no! Google knows how many times your website was visited , by whom, from where and the whole lot of other things so don’t fool yourself by thinking that Google cannot track that!). if your website is not going to retain the visitor and add value to the person visiting your website, you are going to lose soon.
We learn things the hard way and this could go on for years. The process of SEO is changing and Google is moving on to become more intelligent. With that said, change your SEO strategy today if you are thinking long term. Change the way you write. Stop writing for Google. Start writing for real people who would want to read about it! Don’t fool yourself. Google will not buy anything from you. Real people do!
