(India.CityRegions.Com, December 14, 2015 ) New Delhi, India -- What seemed like an easy ball 5 years ago for TCS is now not so. Freshers wanted to work with tier 1 companies which made lucrative offers, higher pays and better packages. But the scenario has changed with more tier 1 companies on the list which includes, motorola, google and Cognizant making a run for freshers in 2015. What makes the competition even tougher is the list of startups which are far more in number and offering a wider range of packages and lucrative offers in terms of salary and position in the company.
Freshers are not what it used to be once upon a time and most people find it easier to place freshers in mid level and low level positions. But the list of startups which offer top level positions in companies (sometimes even more than most tier 1 companies could offer) has given a run for the tier 1 companies.
Companies like google and Motorola who did very less campus interviews and were skeptical on hiring freshers have changed modus operandi and made amendments to the rules, hiring freshers from campus interviews. What more? TCS has made a straight 10% raise on freshers salaries, something which the company has not done since a long time.
With all these changes in place its still hard to say if the entire IT sector is still growing. One thing most people in the industry assures is that the Freshers in the IT sector , specially in metros are in demand and will be so for some time.
Companies including Trinity Skillworks among many others make the entire process of training freshers to the job level requirements easier, fulfilling a 100% job placement in tier 1 companies if they are not recruited on campus.
