(India.CityRegions.Com, January 13, 2017 ) Global ethylene capacity will experience considerable growth in the next five years with increase from 172.73 MMTPA in 2015 to 232.48 MMTPA by 2020. Large capacity additions with more than 80 planned projects are expected to come online primarily in the US, China and Iran in the next five years. China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation, Formosa Plastics Group and The Dow Chemical Company are the top three companies by capacity additions expected to come onstream over the next five years.
Global ethylene industry is expected to spend around US$52.40 billion by 2020 for the upcoming projects. Russia, US and China are the top three countries by capital expenditure for projects by 2020.
